The VoiceSupport™ Lx using the Linux operating system, is a natural migration to open source. Isn’t that what business is all about, creating value?" said Don Williams, chief operating officer of CTL.

In this hyper-competitive world, businesses are facing more challenges than ever before to maintain their competitiveness. The VoiceSupport Lx solution with the following key benefits will assist them in optimizing their communication needs.

Unified Messaging:
Allows users to access their voice, fax, and email messages in their Microsoft Exchange/Outlook client or any IMAP4 compliant Email server, by managing all messages from one central location, thereby maximizing productivity.

Text-to-Speech: Allows users to conveniently manage their communications from remote locations. For example, using enhanced text-to-speech from Nuance’s® speech engine, you can listen to your email messages while driving down the road. In addition, you have options such as, saving it, deleting it, or forwarding it to a co-worker. You can even record a voice message reply which will go back to the sender as a .WAV file Email attachment.

Desktop Call Control: Provides each LAN user with a screen-pop of options for every incoming call. The screen-pop shows the caller ID of the incoming call, and if it matches a telephone number in the user’s Email Contact List, it will give the caller’s name. The user has the option to take the call, transfer it, put the caller on hold while playing a personal or default text-to-speech message, or send the caller to voice mail. In addition, the find-me/follow-me feature is critical for users who never want to miss an important phone call which assures that the user is never out of reach, irrespective of his current location.

Fax Server: This feature encompasses three valuable, independent applications, Desktop Fax, Fax Mail and Fax-on-Demand. Desktop Fax enables any LAN users to send any document from any application, maximizing user productivity. Fax Mail enables a caller to send a fax directly into a subscriber’s mailbox. When the subscribers access their mailbox (Local or Remote), they have several options at their disposal to manage the fax. Fax-on-Demand enables callers to request that documents be routed to their fax machine or unified messaging inbox for viewing, independent of time zones, 24/7/365.

Mobility: By embracing unified communications offered by the VoiceSupport Lx, the benefits enable our customers to fulfill the promise of making their employees fully productive from wherever they are. For example, natural sounding Test-to-Speech provides convenient, mobile access to important business information.

Web Administration: System Administration of the VoiceSupport Lx can take place on-site or from a remote location. Any workstation connected to a network can access the user interface which provides menu driven choices for installing, configuring, and managing the voice mail system.

Hospitality: Designed for the lodging industry, the VoiceSupport Lx solution and its array of features will give you the total package for providing your customers a top rated guest experience.

Networking: Improve efficiency and effectiveness by allowing businesses to exchange messages between multiple networked locations.

CTL is constantly pushing the envelope to develop new features that will ultimately benefit our customers in the short run and long run. We are a customer-centric company, which drives our innovation, and are committed to their satisfaction.

VoiceSupport Lx supports 4 to 40 ports and is currently available through CTL’s dealer channel, OEM’s and VAR’s.

CTL Announces: New SIP VoIP Unified Messaging / Voice Mail Server PDF Print E-mail
Shelton, CT.—October 4, 2004—CTL Inc., a leading provider of telephony solutions, today announced that it has completed its first Session Initiation Protocol, (SIP) product for General Release.

VoiceSIPort™, (VSP), is designed for the small to medium business market that requires a Voice over Internet Protocol, (VoIP) voice processing and Unified Messaging system. The product is based on IP standard technology in VoIP telephony. The reduced component design provides increased reliability, ease of installation, ease of use and lowers the entry-level price of an office voice mail system. CTL’s award winning software, installed on a 1U chassis, allows programming of the system using any computer connected to the LAN. This new chassis for CTL allows the dealers to mount the VSP in a 19” rack or on the wall with the included wall mount kit. With the help of CTL’s default installation software, installation typically takes less than one (1) hour. VSP™ offers a robust Voice Mail and Unified Messaging feature package not available in most VoIP telephones systems. VSP™ installs with most networks using SIP. The system offers 4 to 96 voice channels, 1500 hours of message time and 10,000 user mailboxes in a single 1U chassis.

“Our new design, IP technology, CTL software and innovative distribution philosophies will ensure the success of VSP™” said Bob Capasso, CTL’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "The voice processing opportunity for the emerging VoIP market via resellers is immense and VSP is the ideal solution for them. Needless to say, we are very excited about completing the first release of our SIP based voice mail for the expanding VoIP market.” CTL is opening the door for resellers to quickly deliver the low-cost, easy-to-install systems needed to penetrate this expanding market.

Steve Muricchio, adds, “The enthusiasm and welcoming interest from our dealer channel and prospective customers speaks for itself. The VSP™ will prove to set the new standard for voice mail and unified messaging in the market place. With the acceptance and flexibility of the SIP Standard, new features and applications that were not possible before have become a reality.”

In addition, CTL will sell the PBXLink products through a global channel of Value-Added-Resellers, system integrators, and distributors for premise-based applications.

“This acquisition will further CTL’s mission to provide wireless unified messaging systems to any business, regardless of what phone system they have installed. In addition, the PBXLink sales will be another revenue stream for CTL.”

The PBXLink is the industry’s most advanced digital telephone system (PBX) integration technology and products for adapting analog voice processing systems to digital switches. PBXLink products support major leading PBX manufacturers proprietary, digital telephone interfaces for maximum functional integration to external voice mail, voice processing and IVR systems, including: full station-side emulation of advanced digital telephone handset interfaces for popular Nortel, Mitel, Lucent and Siemens PBX Systems.

CTL’s unified messaging system, VoiceSupport Win2k, is capable of many features besides unified messaging. Fax Server allows users to receive and send private fax documents from their local workstation. Automated Attendant Speech Recognition allows callers to be transferred to any person, just by speaking their name. Wireless Email Extender software allows wireless users to interact with their exact same email INBOX that resides in their office. They can reply, forward, save and delete each email message from their mobile phone. All of this is done in real-time; there is no need to synchronize data on the device. It also allows users access to their contact list, calendar and tasks. Wireless Unified Inbox connects corporate email clients and their voice messaging system with their wireless device so users can access their corporate voice, fax and email messages when out of the office. Text-to-speech is available to play emails over the telephone and allow a .wav file voice reply. Desktop Call Control allows PBX extension users to supervise their incoming extension calls from their desktop PC. Wireless Call Control provides the same functionality as Desktop Call Control, except the users control their incoming extension calls from their mobile phone and can opt to intercept the call.

CTL Announces Desktop Call Control and Wireless Call Control Software for VoiceSupport Win2k Unified Messaging Systems PDF Print E-mail
Shelton, CT—October 7, 2002—CTL, Inc., a global provider of unified messaging systems for the enterprise market, announced today at the Microsoft Exchange Conference the launch of Desktop Call Control and an innovative new service, Wireless Call Control, for the VoiceSupport Win2k Unified Messaging system. Desktop Call Control allows PBX extension users to supervise their incoming extension calls from their desktop PC. Wireless Call Control provides the same functionality as Desktop Call Control, except the users control their incoming extension calls from their mobile phone.

“Desktop Call Control and Wireless Call Control have transformed CTL from a unified messaging company to a unified communications company. We went from the non real-time communications of voice mail, to the real-time communications of intercepting a live call before it goes into voice mail.”

Desktop Call Control
Desktop Call Control, an option on the VoiceSupport Win2k unified messaging system, is a local area network client software application that integrates with the business telephone system. Desktop Call Control provides each user with a screen-pop of options for every incoming call. The screen-pop shows the caller ID of the incoming call, if provided by the phone system. If the caller ID matches a telephone number in the users email Address Book, it will show the caller’s name in the screen-pop window. The user can choose to take the call, transfer it to another extension, tell the caller to hold, or send it to voice mail. Each call has a timer so if there is no response from the user, the call will default to some action, i.e. voice mail, park and page, operator, etc.

“Desktop Call Control overcomes the limitations of the phone system extension. It allows a user to manage multiple calls without putting the original call on hold. If a call goes to voice mail, the user has the option of retrieving the call from the voice mail system. For employees that do not have an expensive display phone, the Desktop Call Control gives them the ability to see who’s calling. These features overcome the restrictions of the phone system and make the employee more productive.”

Wireless Call Control
Wireless Call Control, also an option on VoiceSupport Win2k, allows mobile employees the ability to control their incoming office extension calls from their mobile phone. When the user’s office extension is ringing, a wireless alert is sent to the user’s mobile phone. On their mobile handset, the user views the wireless alert with the caller’s caller ID information (if provided). The user is given a menu of options for taking the call on their mobile phone, sending it to the office voice mail, transferring it to another office extension, or transferring it to any telephone number.

“Wireless Call Control is a ‘follow-me, find-me’ application where a caller calls one number, the business telephone number, and the user has the option of taking the call anywhere,” said Ed Hansen, CTL’s Director of New Product Development. “At the same time, it is centralized voice mail because the voice messages are only left on the office voice mail, not in the cell phone mailbox. The mobile professional no longer needs to give out their mobile number or check multiple voice mailboxes, since you are virtually always in the office.”

CTL is constantly developing new features for their products while providing an easy upgrade path for current customers. Presently, CTL is offering upgrades to this new software so that companies may take advantage of these exciting new features. CTL Announces Availability of VoiceSupport™ for Windows 2000 Unified Messaging Solutions with Wireless Access PDF Print E-mail
Shelton, CT—September 26, 2002—CTL, Inc., a world leading provider of unified messaging systems, today launched the next generation of its product line, VoiceSupport™ for Windows 2000, for small and medium-sized businesses worldwide. Also available is CTL’s new Wireless Email Extender, allowing users access to their corporate email, and Wireless Unified Inbox, enabling mobile users access to their corporate voice, fax and email messages from their mobile phone.

“Today’s announcement accentuates CTL’s commitment to offer next generation applications for the unified messaging market. Windows 2000 provides us with better Internet application development, security and scalability which we need to get more out of our telephony applications. It has enabled us to add wireless applications to our portfolio of products, which expands our market beyond the traditional voice messaging marketplace.”

“CTL is focused on helping corporate messaging users become more efficient while out of the office. We basically extend the user workstation to their mobile device so they can get real-time corporate information including email, voice mail, faxes, personal contact list, tasks and calendar information.”

Windows 2000
The VoiceSupport™ product line migrated from Windows NT to Windows 2000. VoiceSupport™ Windows 2000 uses the same proven CTL software code on an INTEL Pentium 4 platform. The Windows 2000 operating system offers better remote administration without having to use a third party remote software application. Windows 2000 will also allow future product releases to integrate exciting new features including more wireless applications.

Wireless Email Extender
Whether a company has Microsoft Exchange/Outlook or Lotus Notes, the Wireless Email Extender software allows wireless users to interact with their exact same email INBOX that resides in their office. They can reply, forward, save and delete each email message. All of this is done in real-time; there is no need to synchronize data on the device. Email messages are updated on the user’s mailbox immediately, so both the wireless device and the inbox on the corporate workstation are updated simultaneously.

The Wireless Email Extender also allows users access to their personal Contacts, Tasks and Calendar. Wireless devices can search for specific contacts in their contact folder to get valuable information, such as telephone, fax, mobile numbers and email addresses. Access to their Tasks allows users to view important tasks that are scheduled. Calendar access allows users to check or edit appointments in their calendar.

“Corporations like the fact that they don’t have to purchase expensive wireless devices with large monthly fees to get the same service we provide with Wireless Email Extender. And the business traveler enjoys needing only one device, their mobile phone, and not having to carry additional gadgets like PDAs and laptops.”

Wireless Unified Inbox
The Wireless Unified Inbox connects corporate email clients and their voice messaging system with their wireless device so users can access their corporate voice, fax and email messages when out of the office.

“CTL’s Wireless Unified Inbox goes one step further than the Wireless Email Extender, it extends the corporate unified messaging (voice and fax in addition to email) system to the wireless device,” said Ed Hansen, Director of Product Development for CTL.

Users with long email messages can have the unified messaging system call them to play their email over the phone, using text-to-speech technology. The user now has the option of recording a reply, which is sent to the sender as an email with a .wav file attachment. Users can also have the system send them a fax or call them to play their voice messages.

“Today, mobile phone users have mobile network voice mail on their cell phones and some also have a mobile network email address,” added Hansen. “The more sophisticated user has their corporate email on their mobile phone. What the traveling businessperson really wants is their corporate email, corporate voice mail and their corporate faxes accessible from their mobile device. Basically, they want the manageability of their in-house unified messaging system with the convenience of their wireless device.”

CTL is constantly developing new features for the product while providing an easy upgrade path for current customers.
